The prolific Mexican novelist and essayist was one of the leading lights of the "Latin American Boom" of the 1960s and '70s. Signed Print, 8½" X 11½", n.p., n.y. Fine. In 1954 Fuentes wrote a short story titled "Chac Mool" -- a deity in Mayan mythology who he used as a figure. This heavy stock print uses a page from Fuentes' handwritten text as the backdrop, on top of which is an image of the deity by Mexican artist Ricardo Martinez. Separate full-page "Colophon" enumerates the complete story behind this print, noting the limitation of 199 numbered copies.
