First printed as an article in Southern Cultures magazine in Fall, 1999, this is a limited edition bound copy of that article, with a frontispiece engraving of Wolfe and Conroy by Barry Moser, signed by Conroy and Moser. This is #133 of the edition of 265. It is as new, bound in purple cloth with a blue spine with gilt lettering. Titled A Love Letter to Thomas Wolfe in Southern Cultures, it began: "I have needed to write the American novelist, Thomas Wolfe, a love letter since I first encountered him in Eugene Norris's high school English class at the end of 1961 . Though I had no way of knowing it then, I had recently entered into the geography and home territory of what would become my literary terrain." This is a lovely tribute to one writer by another, both of whom have written so movingly of the South.
