Three-page Autograph Letter Signed by Elinor Glyn to Mrs. Burdon-Muller. Single sheet folded once to make 4 pages, with writing on three pages, on embossed letterhead: "Telephone, 1865 Mayfair. 36, Green Street, Park Lane, W." and watermarked "Joynson Superfine". [London], "Good Friday," [No Date, but circa 1900]. The letter, about 20 lines, to Mrs. Burdon-Muller, the wife of a noted collector and patron of the arts, Roland Burdon Muller, begins, "Dear Mrs. Burdon Muller, I am so sorry to have kept the book so long, I send it now at once. I fear it being good Friday I shall not be able to send parcels post. We shall love to come & see you presently when it is warmer. I have been in bed the last three days with a cold. I loath the English spring! We are going down home to Essex tomorrow for change. I am sending the book out now to see if it can go, if not you ought to get it at least tomorrow evening. With kindest regards, yours sincerely, Elinor Glyn." Four small spots of paper residue on last, blank page from earlier mounting, else in fine condition. Elinor Glyn, British novelist, was born in the Channel Islands, and spent time growing up in London, Paris and Guelph, Onta. rio. She published twenty-two novels, three volumes of short stories, and fourteen other books, including her autobiography [see Blain, *Feminist Companion to Literature in English,* p. 433].
