Beschreibung
Stated Second Printing. Signed and inscribed by the author on the blank first front end paper ( 'For Louise, Molly Harrower '). The author went on to become a leading clinical psychotherapist. She, amongst other things, created the Rorschach test. But in an earlier incantation she put her hand to a book of poetry. As you can see from the photos, this is a book that has been very well taken care of. The covers are exceptionally clean. The gilt lettering on the front and spine is still quite bright. There is very little wear, a little bit of light rubbing at the front and rear bottom corners, and at the bottom edge of the spine. The book is square and solidly bound from cover to cover, no cracks or spaces to be found anywhere. The pages are exceptionally clean and pretty bright as well. I'm not finding any soiling on any of the text pages. There is one light spot on the rear side of the second blank rear end paper. That's it. The pages are also in excellent shape. I'm not seeing any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. As you can see the from the first few photos, the dust jacket has held up quite nicely. I've had it in a fitted protective cover for as long as I've owned the book which goes back a good number of years. There is a small tear off the top edge of the front cover and another quite small one off the top edge of the rear cover. Both are fairly inconspicuous. There's also some color fading off the top edge of the front cover and very clearly on the spine. The flaps are in solid condition. The jacket is not priced or clipped. 'Molly Harrower was born in South Africa, of Scottish parents and grew up in England. She came to this country at the age of 21 paying for passage with the proceeds of her first book of poems. Receiving one of the fellowships for foreign students at Smith College she took her PhD in psychology under the late Professor Koffa. While psychology is her profession, poetry is her pleasure.' There are three laudatory blurbs on the front flap. One is from Max Eastman. It reads: 'It is refreshing, in this day of cultivated unintelligibility, to read clear-hearted naturally-spoken poems like these. They flow warmly into the mind, because the rhythm and images belong to the feelings, having been born at the same time and of the same cause.'. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 002796
