From the man who put balloons in the Macy's parade comes "Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria," "The Flatiron Building," "The Great White Way"-- all from a birds-eye view, "a centre of activity--a meeting-place, where numbers of human beings might be observed in action" explains TS in his Introduction. Not just the detail but the use of colors will keep the reader riveted to these Roaring 20s New Yorkers (witty descriptors, too, on backside of title pages). Sky blue boards sunned along top, bottom edges, front and reverse. Age-darkened ivory quarter spine shows some water stains bottom front and on back. Corners frayed. Top/bottom of spine covering gone with center hanging on, title in gilt. Front hinge intact but loosening beneath paper, tearing along top in rear. Top of gutter beginning to crack in first few pages. Book plate ("Mary E. Hemenway"), different owner's name in pen inside front cover, pencil notation in opposite corner. TEG.
