This is the 3rd printing inscribed by the author to Morris Fishbein,who was editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) from 1924 t0 1950 and has Fishbein's bookplate on the front pastedown. The inscription reads " Three of these five Unsolved Mysteries of the Arctic have to do with vitamin C, more or less; and so this copy is very specially inscribed to Dr. Morris Fishbein who published in 1918 a paper on the cure of scurvy with fresh meat written by his friend Vihljalmur Stefansson September 25 1939".
