Beschreibung

A folder of typescript translations of Euripides and Sophocles, and poems by Robert John Beadon, b.1844, who was a published author and colonial administrator. The covers are creased and chipped to the edges but the text is near fine. Inscribed "Minnie Pridham from R.J.B. June 1909", occasional annotations and additional manuscript verses of a poem 'Tanta Pei' to final leaf. Laid in letter (1ALS) to Minnie discussing possible publication of this "thin quarto", and a transcript of an English translation of Sophocles, Oedipus Koloneus 668-719, as found printed within the book.
