Beschreibung
Square octavo. Unpaginated. 19 pages. Illustrated grey and white wrappers, with white lettering on the front cover. Scarce exhibition catalog of the work of Yugoslavia-American artist Vasa (Vasa Velizar Mihich, born 1933). The publications features numerous photographic reproductions in color showing the various types of colorful geometric acrylic sculptures for which the artist was well known. The final text pages contain a short biography of the artist, a list of his previous exhibitions and detailed color, size, and shape charts for his work. "The editions covered by this catalogue are in two series: the first series is comprised of 108 editions, each containing 75 sculptures; the second series is comprised of 20 editions, each containing 75 sculptures. Each of the editions in the first series contains four shapes: triangle, parallelogram, triangular column, and sphere. Each shape is made in four different sizes. Each sculpture has two colors: for the triangle and the parallelograms there are nine different color combinations; for the triangular columns there are five different combinations, and for the spheres there are four. The second series is entirely composed of spheres-called multi-plane spheres. The spheres in the first series are made of gradients of two colors in one plane, whereas this second series is made of solid colors in multi-planes. This series is made in four different sizes-corresponding precisely to the sizes in the first series. Each size in this series comes in five different color combinations. One of the combinations contains two colors; three contain four colors: and one contains five colors. All the sculptures are made of laminated acrylic plastic. Each is signed by the artist and numbered E/75. In addition, each sculpture has a number which refers to size, shape, and color." - The Publisher Light foxing to the top edge of the book block. Wrappers and interior in very good+ to near fine condition overall. Protected in modern mylar. Quite scarce. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 49053
