Jacket spine slightly darkened, else very good to near fine and not price-clipped. A native of Denmark, Soren K. Ostergaard came to the US where he was educated at Gustavus Adolphus College, Harvard and the University of Chicago. Written in 1940 soon after the Great Depression, Ostergaard claimed that "Today the greatest danger to the American way of life and the American standard of living comes from within--from the twelve million unemployed men and woman whom our business system cannot use. They constitute a standing threat to the security of every American, because so long as a hundred people clamor for your job and my job, no job is safe. Is there any possibility of making every American secure and yet retaining all the values of the democratic way of life? This book is an answer to that question, and its answer is 'yes.' Share opportunity says Mr. Ostergaard." [from the dust jacket]. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 01201
