This 170 pp. book is a STATED FIRST EDITION. This book of poetry is the 20th book by this renowned Kentucky author, after a 23 year hiatus since his 19th was printed. He was Poet Laureate of Kentucky in 1984, and was nominated twice for Pulitzer Prizes. There are some nice illustrations interspersed by Jill Baker. There is a full page inscription and signature by Pennington on the first blank flyleaf, AND a half page inscription and signature of the illustrator on the 2nd blank flyleaf.
