(78 pages), maroon boards lettered in silver with blue cloth spine. Foreward and captions by Rube Goldberg, illustrated throughout with 133 portraits of members four to a page, mostly photographic, although some are illustrations by James Montgomery Flagg, each with humorous caption below. This band of artistic golfers generally hung out at the municipal course at VanCourtlandt Park or the private North Hempstead CC on Long Island and were infamous for their alcohol infused annual winter trips to the warmer climes of the south, incl;uding, Cuba, Miami, etc.This copy owned by R. G. Schindler whose biographic note reads: "Detective, who was brought into the club to spy on any house dick who spies on us". His signature and 5th Avenue, NYC address neatly penned lower ffep. In addition James Montgomery Flagg has signed his name below his portrait "JIM FLAGG." Full-page picture of famed sportswriter Grantland Rice, President of this fun-loving crowd,begins the gallery. This unusual album is not listed in Murdoch's bibliography. Donovan & Murdoch list a 1948 edition but not this 1935 edition. NCU and OCLC located no copies of this edition and only three of the 1948 book. Only light wear and two small smudges to papercovered boards, hinges fully intact internally clean and bright. Extremely uncommon, more so with James Montgomery Flagg's autograph. Very Good. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 000596
