Very Good (covers quite nice & bright; contents clean & tight). A very nice copy with just a little faint tanning to the front endpaper. 12mo., green ribbed cloth stamped in gilt; pictorial paper label on front cover; 331 pages First Edition. Signed inscription by Winter on the front endpaper: "Best wishes of the author Charles E. Winter, Riverton, Wyo. July 8, 1920." Charles Edwin Winter [1870-1948) was a U.S. Representative from Wyoming from March 4, 1923 to March 3, 1929. During the summer of 1903, while traveling on a train in Pennsylvania, Winter wrote the lyrics to "Wyoming," the official state song. His western novels include Grandon of Sierra, about a cowboy who gives up ranging to be a prospector in the Encampment copper rush, and this novel, Ben Warman, filmed several times, first as "Dangerous Love" in 1920.
