One of 100 copies signed by the author. There are an additional twenty-six specially bound lettered copies signed by the author. Bowden laments the state of modern book collecting. Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. An 8-page octavo hardcover booklet produced in an edition of 126 copies, 100 being numbered copies and 26 casebound, lettered and signed by the author at rear -- this being copy "G," printed by Jason Davis at the verdant press. Black cloth covered boards with dark red paper labels to front and rear. No dust jacket, as issued. Bowden ridicules the collecting of "first printings" of identical, mass-produced books, and moreso the "rarer" copies in which the scriveners have scribbled their names. That's his right, certainly. The fancy binding up of such a work in this "limited edition" by Ken Sanders Rare Books of Salt Lake City, however (that being where this text was originally delivered as a lecture at the grand opening in August of 1996), seems to verge closer to a bad joke. Should we thus be ashamed to offer this copy at $140? Surely not when others are asking $200. Signed by Author(s). Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 012393
