The spine is lightly faded, with some very mild rubbing to the corners and tips; otherwise very good. Among the best of Lindsay's collections, The Chinese Nightingale and Other Poems features the richly romantic title poem together with numerous ardently patriotic compositions, including those inspired by the First World War. Devoting most of his life to the cause of reviving poetry as an oral art of the common people, Vachel Lindsay (1879-1931) wrote rhythmically appealing compositions, rich with imagery and bold rhymes, like "The Congo" and "General William Booth Enters Into Heaven".
