NOTE: TRUE FIRST HARDCOVER EDITION - THE U.S. 1ST WAS A PB- ONLY - THERE WAS NO TRADE HARDCOVER RELEASE IN THE U.S. UNTIL KOONTZ RE-RELEASED THE BOOK IN 1990 UNDER HIS OWN NAME PUBLISHED BY DARK HARVEST). SIGNED/INSCRIBED/DATED BY DEAN KOONTZ ON THE PRE-TITLE PAGE - SIGNED DIRECTLY ON THE PAGE, NO ON AN ATTACHED BOOKPLATE: "TO SHARRON -- NO WAIT IN LINE FOR THIS ONE. NO CHARGE, EITHER. KOONTZ AKA LEIGH NICHOLS" Book is unread with pages that are barely starting to age yellow at edges (common defect from poor paper quality used by publisher) with sharp corners, no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges, very slight age darkening to outer page edges, no creased page corners, nice tight spine with no spine lean, no internal hinge splits, no former owner's markings or used bookstore stamps/stickers inside, no scotch tape marks or other discoloration to endpapers, no wear to board edges or corners or spine tips, no glue tearing at internal spine creases, no bumped board corners, internal hinges are still tight. Dust jacket has no chipping, tearing or creasing, no wear to front flap crease or to spine tips, no age yellowing, no soiling or staining, no edge wear, no spine sun fading, none of the usual rubbing to the cover gloss. Overall a N-FINE book in N-FINE condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of a rare Dean Koontz UK first printing hardcover book.
