Signed limited first printing anthology of vintage Sherlockian pastiches from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including an anonymous work ascribed to J.M. Barrie and Bram Stoker's interview with Doyle. Notable contents include "Hampshire on Stilts" by "Donan Coyle" (1888), the first known parody of Doyle's non-Sherlockian work; the anonymous 1895 "Mrs. Dr. Sherlock Holmes"; and "The Cat of the Bunkervilles" (1902), in which "Dr Nikola had painted the whiskers of his great cat with phosphorescent paint, thus giving it the ghost-like appearance of a cat with whiskers painted with phosphorescent paint." 8.25'' x 5.75''. Original black cloth with gilt-lettered spine. In original unclipped (no price) green pictorial dust jacket. 120 pages. 100 copies of the first edition numbered and signed by the compilers; this copy no. 17. Signed by Gibson and Green below limitation statement. Though no provenance markings, this copy from the library of noted Sherlockian, BSI member since 1973, and retired US magistrate judge Andrew Peck. Minimal edgewear.
