A limited edition of 500 copies, of which this is No. 215. With an original etching titled " Artist and Model." (The artist, palette in hand, stands to the left. The young model sits holding a large book on her knees. Both are silhouetted against the light from a large studio window). Image size 8 ¾" x 5 3/4 " (224 x 149 mm); it is signed in ink by McBey. The book is a catalog of 223 of McBey's works, each pictured and described with number of prints and proofs issued. 4to. ( 32 cm.), 3 p. l., ix-xxiii, [228] pp., 1 l. frontispiece, illustrated. Original publisher's 1/4 calf and brown cloth. More than half of the leather on the spine is missing and a black stain intrudes from the spine to the top edges of the sides of the leather. Still, this is a fine copy internally, including the original etching which, detached from the book and by itself, sells for $950.00 or more. The book is additionally signed by McBey to "a friend Ernest E. (sic) Roth. James McBey New York, 1 January 1930." Earnest D. Roth's copy. The volume weighs 4 lbs. Postage may be extra.
