Very good blue cloth, title and author on cream paper applied to the front board, 9 x 6 inches, viii., 52 clean and unmarked pp., tight, no dust jacket as issued. Dr. Charles Lee - née Levy - (1913-2002), born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania and for fifty years a member of that department. He became known as the "Dean of Philadelphia critics," serving as a book editor for newspapers and as a contributor to both radio and television from the times of their infancy. He also served as the arts and entertainment critic at Philadelphia's classical music station. He was the twin brother of the novelist David Levy.
