On the front of its jacket is a small address label for "Judith Merril / Box 397 / Milford, Penna. 18337". On its front end paper is the inscription, "For Judy & Dan, if they can get far in enough to read it -- Damon 2/6/61". (Note: the "a" in "Dan" matches the "a" in Knight's signature, so it's not "Judy & Don".) This Damon Knight collection was published in 1961, so it's charming to imagine Knight inscribing his recently published book to a fellow writer (and possibly her re-united ex-husband, Dan Zissman) as they pass a joint in the forests of Pennsylvania at that year's Milford Writer's Workshop. This book is in good condition marred only by light wear on its covers' edges, 1/2" splits in the paper at the bottom of its hinges, and slight lean. Its binding is sound, its covers are unmarked, and Its pages are unworn and otherwise unmarked, with light age tanning. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is also in good condition: whole and unmarked, marred only by a few short edge tears with related creasing, plus wear on the ends of its spine and flap folds. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its proud new owner in the same condition as my description.
