"Special Presentation Copy" leaf preceding title page on which Streit pens recipient's name in bright green ink as "Mrs. Nellie S. Thrum" and also signs boldly. Inside front wrapper bears handsome bookplate of relative of Thrum, noted academic administrator Deane W. Malott (1898-1996), educator who served as assistant dean at Harvard Business School, chancellor of University of Kansas and president of Cornell University. Streit (1896-1986) was a well-known American journalist and war correspondent who penned books advocating a federal union of world democracies as mankind's best hopes for a peaceful world.
