Chester Wade Marshall, who lived in Tennessee, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-29 pilot. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his missions over Japan. He wrote many World War II books. Kermit O. Eddy, who also lived in Tennessee, served in the Navy during the Korean War and was an avid aviation fan.
