Near pristine First edition, first impression of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, inscribed around the date of publication by the author, "To Hartley, with apologies for the fact that we didn't speak sooner! J. K. Rowling". The inscription is found on the dedication page and contains the highly requested early mid-1998 variation of Rowling's signature, before she had dispended with the periods between the 'J' and 'K'. Fully authenticated by J.K. Rowling signature expert Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist. Comes with LoA and collector's card with interesting details. This copy was previously part of the Pat McInally Collection of Children's Literature. McInally is a distinguished former American football player and famous children's book collector, known for his high collecting standards and this copy is no exception to the rule. Both the book and the dust Jacket are in an amazing, unsurpassed near pristine condition. The book was undoubtedly carefully stored away, protected from sunlight, immediately after purchase and inscription, as the pages are still incredibly bright and barely have the usual toning. The book has never been read and is still crispy when opened. Arguably the best inscribed copy ever coming for sale, housed in a custom blue quarter morocco solander box.
