Blue boards with darker blue imprint on front and spine. Spine color is very faded but imprint remains vibrant. Clearly the jacket, which is present, was not always on the book. Top edge of boards also faded. Light foxing to fore edge. Head and tail of spine is bumped. Jacket is toned, especially on the spine with small area of water damage to spine. 3/4 inch closed tear to top edge of front of jacket and 1 by 3/4 inch piece missing from top edge of back of jacket. Tight binding and mostly clean interior. Author competed in the 1936 Winter Olympics as Captain of the British Ski-Running team and was a team member from 1931-1936. The author's father, Arnold Lunn is often called the 'Father of Downhill Skiing' for his endless campaigning to have downhill and slalom racing recognized as International Ski Federation and Olympic events. Inscribed on first endpaper, "Faith With Love Peter 14.11.35" This would be Faith Donaldson, a member of the first American ski team in Europe.
