A decent hardback 2-volume set without dust jackets. Brown cloth with gilt title lettering to upper covers and spines. Top edges gilt. The rear hinge of volume 1 is cracked but holding, and there is foxing throughout both volumes. Some leaves remain unopened (in approx 15 places) along their fore edges in volume 2. (I have not noticed any unopened leaves in volume 1, but have not done a page-by-page check). All the illustrations are present and correct. Overall, a decent hardback set. Signed by author.
