A finely bound, limited edition copy of James Kenneth Stephen's first poetry anthology. The first edition thus, being the first edition of this limited printing. Printed the same year as the first trade edition.This is numbered 149 of 150copies printed on hand-made paper. Signed by the author 'J.K.S' to the limitation page.The title page states this is a 'New Edition' although, this is the first limited edition copy.Kipling referred to Stephen as 'that genius' and how, in his poem addressed to him, Stephen 'dealt with Haggard and me in some stanzas which I would have given much to have written myself'.James Kenneth Stephen was an english poet and tutor to Prince Albert Victor, eldest son of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales.Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front blank, Daisy Bruce, 1891 for C.W.F.This is a finely bound copy of this work, by Stoakley. Late Hawes. With the binder's stamp to the tail of front endpaper. In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally, generally smart, with patches of rubbing to the joints and extremities.
