Spotting to preliminaries, endpapers and edges of textblock, spotting and staining visible to jacket reverse, jacket price-clipped, creasing along edges of jacket. Very good. Thomas Coryate was a late Elizabethan and early Jacobean travel writer who is best remembered for his 'Coryat's Crudities'. However, in this book, Strachan builds a picture of Coryate which stretches beyond Europe; Stracham pays particular attention to his travels in India where Coryate died at age 40, and as a result he was never fully able to tell the stories of his travels there.
