Quite scarce limited edition of this collection of dramatic verse from the Scottish born author and artist, Hume Nisbet, who spent a good deal of his life in Australia. Limited to 12 copies, this being #6, with vellum boards and gilt illustration on front cover, and signed by the author on the limitation page. Also contains an original watercolor frontis painted and signed by Nisbet, depicting an obelisk on a small island, surrounded with lush vegetation, with a backdrop of blue sky and birds in flight. Near fine with some light discoloration to boards, a scuff and some wear near heel of spine, and a bit of fading to the gilt lettering on spine. Top text block edge also gilt, and other untrimmed edges are tanned, otherwise clean internally. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 3097

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a gripping and deeply moving collection of poetry that explores the complexities of human emotion, desire, and morality. The author, a master of their craft, delves into the dark recesses of the human psyche, laying bare the raw and often contradictory impulses that drive us. The poems in this collection are as varied as the human experience itself, ranging from tender love sonnets to haunting meditations on death and loss, from playful explorations of sensuality to unflinching confrontations with the darkest aspects of our nature. Through it all, the author's voice is clear and unflinching, offering a profound and often unsettling glimpse into the human condition. This book is not for the faint of heart, but for those willing to confront the shadows that lie within, it offers a rare and transformative experience. The author's insights into the human soul are both deeply personal and universally resonant, and their words have the power to stay with the reader long after the last page has been turned. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 9781333333720_0
