Owner name and stamp on front fly and a small area of shallow abrasion there from a gift inscription mostly removed, otherwise just about fine in a near very good dust jacket with short chips and tears, a faint cover stain, and a smaller stain near the spine base that doesn't show through. This play won the Pulitzer Prize and was the basis for the unjustly neglected 1934 Richard Boleslawski film featuring Clark Gable as a doctor torn between his professional obligations to his mentor Jean Hersholt and his marriage to society girl Myrna Loy. True first edition of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Illustrated with photographs from the stage production. Basis for the 1934 film starring Clark Gable and Myrna Loy. Faint pale-green stain to lower cover edges (not affecting spine) otherwise would be a crisp near fine copy of this book. In a good example of the scarce dust jacket with chipping to extremities affecting top of "N" in "MEN." Touch up with black marker evident on verso where there is also internal tape repair.
