[WITH] Autograph Letter Signed to William Henderson from Thomas Satchell (Publisher). 4pp. 5"x 8", London Institution, Finsbury Circus, London: August 15, 1879. Regarding matters having to do with publication of Henderson's "My Life as an Angler." The letter reads in part: "You must not think that I am becoming dubious of the success of 'My Life as an Angler' (when it comes out early next month) because I am anxious to place a portion of the edition, which my son is producing, on the American market. I have still as much faith as ever in this book, and probably no other person has read it so many times over, but this step would probably eliminate the chance of failure, and however great my faith, I cannot close my eyes to possibility of failure with the present condition of things at home. The advisability of this procedure.arises solely from the general depression and scarcity of spending money which obtains here at the present time." There follow specific details as to size of the 1879 (published) edition, as well as details on bindings and illustrations. A SPLENDID VOLUME, WITH A NOTABLE LETTER FROM SATCHELL TO THE AUTHOR.
