Includes a list of words and phrases unique to Scottish arranged by speech and subject matter. Author was active in government and is said to have published more than 350 tracts. In 1793 he became the first president of the Board of Agriculture. Foxing and waving to the parchment paper inside throughout. Otherwise a good copy of a remarkable cultural contribution. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
