Originally written for the first volume of 'The Collected Works of Robert Duncan', but the plan for the edition was revised. The essay did appear in a previous version in 'A Symposium of the Imagination: Robert Duncan in Word and Image'; it is published here as shuffaloff Monograph # 1. Upper wrapper lightly creased to the lower corner, mild creasing around the spine (probably in production), the lower wrapper slightly rubbed superficially.
