Stated First Edition. Once listed it will be the Only signed copy of this book for sale on the Internet. The signed inscription is on the title page. It reads 'For Ted + Alice, Something for the Mama's + Papa's about their children, Best Wishes, Richard Jessup, Westport 1970 pre-publication.' The red covers are in very nice condition, very clean, very little wear, a few light scratches, a little crinkling at the spine ends. That's it. The inside covers and end papers are a darker red, no soiling, no wear. The book is solidly bound, both pages and covers. The pages, on the whole are exceptionally clean. However there is a small tan stain on the middle page edge and a teeny bit of it just peeks over the edges of the last 40 pages. I didn't see any other soiling and the pages are nicely bright. I'm not seeing any creasing. No markings or attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket for yourself in the photos. There's some scratching, some handling soiling, some scuffing. The flaps have a tiny bit of dust staining at their top edges. There's a little pinkish spot on the rear flap. The lettering on the flaps is blue. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. The book was a Book-of-the-Month Club Selection. It is not a BOMC publication.
