1st US Edition/Stated 1st Printing. The first of the Quiller espionage series and basis for the 1968 film version of novel. Red cloth boards w/red top stain. DJ is rubbed with edge wear and samll chipping to spine ends. $4.50 price present on lower front DJ flap. SIGNED (inscribed) by author on a bookplate affixed to front end page: "To Valerie with love- Elleston" and dated 1970. Also includes laid-in a small B&W photo SIGNED by actress SENTA BERGER (played 'Inge Lindt' in the film). Also attached to front end page is a card SIGNED and inscribed by GEORGE SEGAL (played 'Quiller') Winner of Edgar Award. (Bonus: Comes with a unsigned 1st Printing hardcover copy of Elleston Trevor's novel "Bury Him Among Kings"). Scarce copy of first Quiller with author's signature.
