This book has some light age toning inside. Otherwise the covers and boards are NF -- a very attractive copy. The dustjacket has some scuffing along the folds and small chips on the edges and some soiling to the back. Juge Alley's books is one of the classics on western North Carolina, particularly the area around Highlands and Whiteside Mountain. It is inscribed and signed by Judge Alley on the ffep to H. R. Scott, and the book came from Scott's estate. Hugh Reid Scott (1855-1947) was a prominent attorney and banker in Reidville, NC.
