Dedication reads: "This book is dedicated to the memory of the entire family of Mark Wallach who sacrificed their lives to Adolph Hitler's Nazis, merely in payment for the sin of being of the Jewish faith." "Remembering Mark" is an inspiring, at times seemingly incredible, story of a man with vision and accurate foresight. The man "Mark," propelled through a world of turmoil which was recognized by only an handful as it headed toward disaster, calamity and tragedy. It traces his family back over the generations and introduces a man born to achieve but never to be recognized nor appreciated in his lifetime, for his zeal, devotion and dedication to the well-being of his family. Mark recognized the "Hitler Era" before, in fact, it became the Hitler Era. As a Nazi basher in the early days to the prognosticator of doom, thought by many to be crazy for his radical views, he saw the unseen. As an extremely comfortable and well-off young man with a wife and three small children living in Germany in the early 1930's, he gave up everything on a whim, leaving a fortune behind and fleeing to Holland to live in a strange nation with an insecure future. He had what it took to overcome the language barrier and the customs so different. Once again, he rose from point zero to high stature, financial well being and security only to see the vicissitudes of life again call for a repetition of the difficult past. He recognized Hitler's Germany for what it would become and sought to flee long before most saw the unfolding fatal tragedy which was around the corner. Once again, from the comfortable nest, he took his fledglings and brought them to the far off shore of the United States during the Great Depression, where he face an uncertain future, potential financial disaster and fear, only to rise above it all, succeed, adjust, raise his family and find security and happiness. He was a rare individual among the most uncommon, a man not recognized, yet deserving of greatness.". Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 001239
