Stated First Printing, First Edition. Signed and Inscribed by the Author/Illustrator Winifred Lubell on the first front end paper ( 'For Freda, in fond remembrance of our brook days. Love Winnie, October 75'). This book has a lot going for it. As you can see from the photos, the covers are very clean and are in excellent shape. The corners, the edges, and the spine ends are all unworn. The book is square and very solidly bound from cover to cover. And the interior of the book is in just as excellent condition with exceptionally clean pages (there is one small stain on the middle page edge but it just peeks over the edge of only two pages). There are no markings on any of the pages. There are no creases. No dogeared corners. And with the exception of the signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The dust jacket is in solid shape. However it has a small loss at the top edge of the front cover which has caused me to give the jacket only a Good rating. The jacket has only mild handling soiling. There is a little scuffing at the top edge of the spine and one small closed tear off the bottom edge of the rear cover. The jacket is NOT price-clipped. The price is at the top corner of the front flap. The bottom corner of the front flap is clipped. The jacket will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Recommended for ages 6 to 9.
