This is a UK first edition hardcover published by Headline in 1990 AND SIGNED BY DEAN KOONTZ DIRECT TO THE TITLE PAGE. To satisfy the pedants, I'll point out that I am aware this book was first published in the UK in the 70s by Arthur Barker using the K R Dwyer pseudonym. This is the first Headline hardcover printing which is of importance to collectors due to the variant cover art and why I have described it as a first edition. The dust jacket is Fine overall with negligible rubbing to the extremities and states £13.95 net in the UK, which is the true first jacket state for this title (if yours says £16.99, it's a later edition jacket). The book is about Fine with straight spine, sharp corners and lightly softened spine ends you can ONLY see if you remove the jacket. The pages are toned, however. The copyright page confirms the printer as Richard Clay Ltd, of Suffolk, which is the correct printer details for the first edition state. The copyright page has the run of numbers 1-10 present. I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is ONLY obtained if you live in the UK and I will only update ABE with tracking details on request, and only when 10 working days has passed. If you live overseas then tracking is NOT provided unless you choose priority mail. There will be times when, due to the value of the book, I will insist on priority mail and this will be clearly stated in my listing. If you ignore this, your order will be refused.
