Mosby. Mosby, the daring and extremely effective "Gray Ghost" of the 43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry, deploys his post-Civil War skills as a lawyer to mount a defense of Stuart's actions (and absences) during the pivotal battles in Pennsylvania. Inscribed and dated by John S. Mosby on the front endpaper. Inscribed to Mrs. Champ Clark. Rep. Champ Clark was a powerful late 19th century and early 20th century Missouri Congressman who served four terms as Speaker of the House (1911-1919).
