1998 FIRST PRINTING of First Edition of the deluxe illustrated edition. SIGNED by Jon Krakauer on the first blank page with black marker pen. This is the true first printing with "FIRST EDITION" printed on the copyright page and the number line having "2" as the lowest digit. Copies with "1" as the lowest digit are NOT first printings. Villard has a weird system of number line use. Original whit cloth with metallic blue illustration front cover and metallic blue lettering spine. The book is in nice condition with some tiny dark speckles on covers (seem to be part of the cloth since I have had most copies being the same), no previous owner marks or writing on any pages (other than Krakauer's signature), no remainder marks, tight binding, clean, no foxing. The original printed clear plastic dust jacket is in nice condition with no chips, no tears, complete with original printed price on front flap corner.
