[30] pp. Black cloth back-strip and color illustrated paper over boards. The paper backed book is worn at the extremities. Some soiling and tanning to the covers. Previous owner name front pastedown. Chips and creases along front panel at the top and spine ends. Jacket is somewhat tanned with a few spots and soiling. Signed by Marc Simont on the color illustrated second front end page with the lovely watercolor seascape and tree illustration as was issued. Photo of Simont and family taken at his home in Cornwall, CT laid in. A Very Good copy in Very Good- jacket. Winner of the 1957 Caldecott Medal. Mr. Simont signed this copy for me at his home in Cornwall, CT. His wife Sara Dalton, known as Bee and his sister Genevieve, known as Genny, were also present. A picture is available showing the group admiring my 1887 Complete Pictures and Songs of Randolph Caldecott, which Mr. Simon signed, adding his name to the many signatures of Caldecott Medalist's who have signed this 1887 Edition.
