First Edition (first printing) the card wrapper issue. This copy inscribed by the author on the half-title to: "Trish [Montemuro] love Tony Christmas 1985", with the 'V' from the title here incorporated into the word 'Love'. Slim 8vo. Unpaginated. Publisher's glossy card wrappers, slightly marked in places and with a little light creasing to one corner. Place marker crease to the corner of one text leaf, and some marginal pencil marking and underlining. A very good copy of Harrison's equally celebrated and divisive poem. Uncommon in this first edition state (although the simultaneously issued casebound example is more so), and here considerably enhanced by his contemporary inscription to his great friend and National Theatre colleague Trish Montemuro.
