It is a presentation copy from the author to members of her family, in which she has written 'With the Author's Compliments', to the front free-endpapers of Volumes I and II. Also containing the bookplate of Philip Davies Rose, to the front pastedown of Volumes I and II, and the bookplate of Beatrice Rose to the front pastedown of Volume III, both relations of the author.A scarce to find work. In contemporary half calf with marbled boards. Externally, generally sound, with some rubbing and bumping to the spines, joints, and extremities. A few scuffs to the boards. Spine label to Volume I is lacking and spine label to Volume II is detached but present. Containing the bookplate of previous owners to the front pastedowns of each volume, and an inscription from the author to the front free-endpapers of Volumes I and II. Internally, hinges are lightly strained, particularly to Volume II. A few instances of light spotting to the pages, which are otherwise generally bright and clean. Good.
