SIGNED inscription by Charles Major, August 1899 on front free end paper. Charles Major is the author who wrote this book under the pen name Edwin Caskoden, who acts as the narrator of the story. The thick creamy paper has a few occasional foxing freckles and occasional light finger smudges. No writing, no tears, no creasing. Two of the sixteen black & white illustrations are beginning to separate cleanly from the binding and a third has fully separated, but all are present and in very good condition. 248 pages, followed by several pages of publisher s advertisements.
