Die mit Kelch und Blumenkrone versehenen Blüten sind aus gleich zahligen, abwechselnd stehenden Blattkreisen aufgebaut. Die Staubblätter stehen meist in 2 Kreisen. Der Fruchtknoten ist oberstandig. Meist findet sich auf dem Blütenboden ein Diskus; derselbe ist in der Regel eine ring polster oder becherförmige Erhebung des Blütenbodens; häufig ist er ge lappt oder gekerbt, zuweilen auch in einzelne Drüsen geschieden; mitunter verschmilzt er mit dem Grunde der Staubfaden und. Bildet so die gemein same Platte der nunmehr ein oder zweibruderig-verbundenen Staubfaden.
