Jak Mallmann Showell lives in Kent. The son of a U-boat engineer, he is one of Britain's foremost experts on the subject of the U-boat campaign during World War 2. He has written a number of books on the subject, including, for Ian Allan Publishing U-Boats under the Swastika, U-Boats at War and Enigma U-Boats.
