Excerpt: ... children than are here named, born probably after the date which appears under the name of their mother. 8 Jane and William Griffith were married on the 27th Novembor, 1593. 8 Sion Bodvel, afterwards Sir John Bodvel, Knight, was Sheriff of Carnarvonshire in 1623. Mary Bagnall was probably his first wife, and it is believed died without issue. He was also married to Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Wynn, of Gwydir, Baronet, by whom he had a son, who died without issue, and two daughters, Sarah, wife of Robert Roberts, Earl of Radnor, and Mary, wife of Hugh Cholmondeley, Esq. By him, who was baptized at Peover, in the county of Chester, 24th July, 1591, and died at Bodvel, 11th September, 1655, she was mother of Robert, the first Viscount Cholmondeley. 7 Mary, daughter of Sir Harry Bagnall, Knight, died the 27th of January, 1605, (probably 1605-6.) Sir Henry Bagnall was son and heir of, Sir Nicholas Bagnall, Knight Marshal of the Queen's army, in Ireland, 1577, (See Penrhyn, and notes thereto, also notes to Plas Newydd,) which office Sir Henry also held. Elinor, his wife, was born in 1557, and after his death married to Sir Sackville Trevor. Her mother was Elizabeth, daughter to Thomas Manners, Earl of Rutland. Elizabeth, was daughter to John Bodwrda, ap Ieuan ap Meredydd; (See Bodwrda,) so Anne, whose name occurs in the next passage, must have been her sister. In the Bodwrda pedigree, "Ellen ferch of Adderton in Cheshire." NTo such place or surname is to be found in Ormerod's Cheshire. 1 Gruffydd ap Dafydd Vychan appeare, frora Ministère' accounts, in the Chapter Housc, at Westminster, to have been Uving at Michaelmas, the 21st year of Edward the IV, (1481.) 1 Gruffydd ap Sion ap Gruffydd was alive on the lst day of June 1510. 1...
