Denise Barnes is executive director of Growing Catholics Ministries whose mission is to promote faith in the home and provide resources to parents in their role as first and primary teachers of faith. She has served as a Catholic school teacher, Director of Religious Education and Faith Formation Director for the Diocese of Jefferson City in Missouri. She is the author of Growing Catholics which earned an Editor's Choice designation. Her series of children's books bring her children and grandchildren to the page as characters in order to provide opportunities for parents and children to share faith through stories. Denise lives in Missouri with her husband, youngest daughter, and the family dog which she blogs about at www.growingcatholics.blogspot.com Illustrator, Christine Hoecker has been a teacher for the past 24 years in both public and Catholic schools in mid-Missouri. She serves as co-director of Growing Catholics Ministries and is using her artistic talents to spread God's message to families. She lives in rural Missouri with her husband and two sons.
