Reseña del editor:
In GHOST GOLD, Oren Arnold tells the complete story of Superstition Mountain and The Lost Dutchman Mine, from legendary beginning to all the most recent efforts to find it. He even includes detailed advice on how best to go about making your own trip into the maze of canyons on the side of Superstition, should you, too, "have an urge."

And "have an urge” you surely will after a swift reading of this true and breathtaking story of Mexicans, Indians, prospectors, hopeful tenderfeet, violence, evil spirits, lust and an unbelievable treasure of gold! For armchair prospectors it will be a thrilling experience.

Editor's Note:
Originally published in 1954.
This book has been digitally re-mastered to remove artifacts that occur during aging; faded colors are restored to clarity and vibrancy; pages are straightened and trimmed; blurred text is sharpened and images are enhanced and scaled. Although we do all we can to provide you with the best image quality possible, there are times when age gets the best of us, and we are unable to fix certain things without hurting the integrity of the book. Even with the most sophisticated processing rare books may contain some permanent flaws.
Biografía del autor:
OREN ARNOLD in recent years has emerged as one of the foremost interpreters of Western lore. He is the author of more than twenty books, and hundreds of articles in such magazines as The Saturday Evening Post, The Reader's Digest, Coronet, Better Homes & Gardens, etc. An article by him on the Lost Dutchman Mine of Superstition Mountain in The Saturday Evening Post brought him international renown as an authority on this lost-treasure legend, told here in GHOST GOLD in its entirety for the first time. Mr. Arnold was born near Henderson, Texas, and attended The Rice Institute and The University of Texas. Later he worked on newspapers in Texas and Arizona, then in 1930 became a freelance writer. He married Adele Roensch, a former Rice Institute classmate, and they have three daughters, Judy, Rosemary and Gail. The family’s winter home now is in Phoenix, Arizona, and summer home is in Laguna Beach, California. From these bases he travels throughout the nation gathering material for articles and books.
