R.T. Plasket grew up in a small town on a dirt road. She attended a two room school that housed beginners to eighth grade. When she went to the high school in a neighboring town, R. T. was exposed to a whole new world--the haves and the have-nots; the clicks and the squares; the loners and the cool kids, cruisin' town, the boys from across the county line, D.A.'s and pegged pants. All were new territory for a small town girl. With morals instilled by her strict but fair New England mother, R.T. learned to be true to herself. Awakened Fire is her true life breakout novel, the first in a four book series. R. T. Plasket is currently active year around with a group of writers that meets regularly to participate in the "Time to Tell" project created by SCOSA, the Stockton Center on Successful Aging at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. R.T. helped in the founding of Pineberry Decorative Painters, a South Jersey group that meets at the Hammonton branch of the Atlantic County Library. She served as president of the association for several years. She previously served as editor for the newsletter for Shore Pine Decorative Painters and as editor for the newsletter for Del-Val Decorative Painters. R. T. enjoyed a variety of occupations. In her early days she was an accomplished dancer, a friendly waitress, and a dedicated teacher of disadvantaged children. She was a competent psychiatric technician, nurse, and dental assistant. She was also an independent beauty advisor on a part time basis. In the early 1980s, she met the challenge to break ground becoming the first female sales agent in a previously all male district of a national insurance company where she quickly became one of the "guys" and one of the top salesmen. Later, she served as a bank branch manager and in customer service before retirement.
