Reseña del editor:
Clever, introverted Joan struggled to come to terms with her mother’s death by plunging herself into a dark, colorless, emotionless world. At home, she played lacrosse with her older brother; the best therapy for two kids who had lost the solar power on which their lives had run. Away from home, she haunted the hallways of high school like an invisible ghost. Until one summer day when a golden boy moved in next door, which caused her humorous, awkward, often embarrassing inner conversations to tumble out to complicate and light her path back to living once more, out loud and in color.
Biografía del autor:
I was born and raised in Illinois. After graduating from the University of Illinois, where I majored in Graphic Design, I started my visual communication career in Chicago. I married my best friend, Mike, and continued to work in cities throughout the United States courtesy of the U. S. Navy. After twenty years we thought we had settled forever in Colorado, but an opportunity we couldn't pass up prompted our seventeenth move: to Iowa. Which brings us full circle back to the Midwest! Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, I started writing my first children's book, "I love you I love you I love you I do. If you were a sock . . . then I'd be your shoe" while going through treatment and watching the devastation of 9.11. 2001. I wanted to put into words and pictures how I felt about protecting, nurturing, growing roots and giving wings to my children and those of my family & friends. I've thrived for fifteen years now, and have written, illustrated and independently published six children's books, helped publish two others, and have written and published my first novel, "Fade To Black & White."
